When it’s cold there is nothing better than a hot drink to warm you up, and this time of year, hot spiced apple cider fits the bill perfectly. I love the convenience of the instant cider packets when I’m hiking or snowshoeing but there are a lot of multi-syllabic ingredients that I’d really rather avoid.
That’s why I have come up with a mixture of my own that tastes pretty close but uses minimal ingredients, and is just as easy to pack and carry with you.
- Add 2 cinnamon apple spice tea bags to boiling water.
- Thinly slice 3-4 pices of apple and add them to the tea while the bags steep.
- Add 1/4 stick of cinnamon to the mixture. You can add more or less cinnamon stick according to taste.
- Let steep for a few minutes.
Enjoy your Hot Spiced Apple Cider…and eat the rest of your apple!
