Campfire Roasted Marshmallow Strawberries

Are you looking for a really good tasting Smore alternative? My family was recently turned onto the Campfire Roasted Strawberry recipe, and my daughters absolutely love them. The best part is I don’t feel so guilty letting them eat a bunch because, well, they are eating so mainly fruit. The recipe consists of a strawberry covered in marshmallow fluff and then roasted over the campfire. They are easy to make and very yummy, but I thought that they were missing a little something… CHOCOLATE!  So here is my families version.

roasted strawberry

01 ingredients

  • Washed fresh Strawberries ( I cut the tops off  because it makes them easier to eat.)
  • Marshmallow Fluff
  • Chilled Chocolate Syrup
  • Multi-pronged Roasting utensil

This can get a little messy so have moist paper towels or wipes available, but really the dessert is very easy.

1. Take a washed strawberry and put it on the camp fork. You don’t have to remove the strawberries stems, but I do so my daughters can eat the entire thing. I have found too much strawberry gets wasted if I leave the tops on.

2. Cover the strawberry with marshmallow fluff. Make sure the strawberry is dried well, otherwise the marshmallow fluff tends to not want to stick to the berry. Use any method you can think of to spread it on. My kids prefer to use their finger.

3. Roast the marshmallow fluff and strawberry over the fire until it’s done the way you like it.

4. This is where it can get a little messy. Drizzle a small amount of chocolate syrup onto the berry and rotate it until it’s spread out. Do this over a bowl or tissue because it can run and some may drip off.

Well, that’s it. Like I said, pretty easy and very delicious. If you have any ideas on how to get chocolate onto them without it running, PLEASE post them below so I can share them. Thank you.
